National Museum of the Royal Navy
We have worked closely with the Royal Navy to produce an interpretation framework for two of their projects. Firstly for the new Naval Galleried at NMRN Hartlepool, a brand new museum; and secondly, for their current exhibition, ‘Barracuda Live!’
The commissioning of our Interpretation Framework marks a pivotal milestone in the development of the new Naval Galleries at the National Museum of the Royal Navy Hartlepool. These galleries are envisioned as a catalyst for realising NMRN’s ambitious goal of becoming the world’s most inspiring naval museum, linking Navy to Nation. We created a framework that identified key themes, collections, audiences, visitor journey, funding opportunities and collaboration projects.
The Barracuda Live rebuild project stands as a momentous endeavour, filling a critical void in aviation history. With no intact examples of the Barracuda remaining, the reconstruction of a WWII-era Barracuda aircraft is pivotal in completing the historical narrative. We created a 10 year framework from which the team could gain inspiration to create new projects, maintaining public interest over a sustained period of time.
